IF YOU ALREADY HAVE A MYGOV ACCOUNT YOU CAN SKIP THIS SECTION

Before you apply for centrelink, you need a myGov account.

Go to Create a myGov account | myGov and if you are 15 or older, click continue with digital ID (it will save time later). Otherwise, just use your email address.

IF USING DIGITAL ID:

  • Choose myId

  • Click set one up

  • You can close the login page now

  • Follow the instructions on that page and download the app

  • Make sure to do the strongest one to save time later

  • Go to https://my.gov.au/en/create-account/ and choose login with digital id

  • You are done! Click complete down the bottom

IF USING EMAIL:

  • Enter in your email address and verify it using the email it sent you.

  • If you would like to, enter your mobile number. Otherwise skip the step.

  • Create a password

  • If you did not enter a phone number, make some security questions.

  • You will then get a username that you can use if you would like.

  • You are done for now. Click continue
